Energy-Efficient Operation of Water Systems through Optimization of Load Power Reduction in Electricity Markets

摘要 Demandresponse(DR)isgainingmoreandmoreimportanceinthearchitectureofpowersystemsinacontextofflexibleloadsandhighshareofintermittentgeneration.ChangesinelectricitymarketsregulationinseveralcountrieshaverecentlyenabledaneffectiveintegrationofDRmechanismsinpowersystems.Throughitsflexiblecomponents(pumps,tanks),drinkingwatersystemsaresuitablecandidatesforenergy-efficientDRmechanisms.However,thesesystemsareoftenmanagedindependentlyofpowersystemoperationforbotheconomicandoperationalreasons.Indeed,asufficientlevelofeconomicviabilityandwaterdemandsriskmanagementarenecessaryforwaterutilitiestointegratetheirflexibilitiestopowersystemoperation.Inthispaper,weproposedamathematicalmodelforoptimizingpumpschedulesinwatersystemswhiletradingDRblocsinaspotpowermarketduringpeaktimes.Uncertaintiesaboutwaterdemandswereconsideredinthemathematicalmodelallowingtoproposepowerreductionscoveringthepotentialriskofreal-timewaterdemandforecastinginaccuracy.NumericalresultswerediscussedonarealwatersysteminFrance,demonstratingbotheconomicandecologicalbenefits.
