Measuring effi ciency of listed tourism companies in China

摘要 Thisstudyseekstoevaluatethecomparativeproductivityof32listedtourismcompanieswhicharethemainsuppliersofChinatourism,usingthepopularmethodologyknownasthedataenvelopmentanalysis(DEA).ThisstudyanalyzestheproductivityoflistedtourismcompaniesfrombusinessandregionaspectsbasedonthecalculationofMalmquistindex.Theresultsshowthat(1)theoverallproductivityisnon-efficient(0.954);(2)theproductivityofaccommodationandcateringisbiggest,whichshowsthetourismdevelopsquicklywithsupportsfromtechnology;(3)theproductivityinwesternChinaishighest,wheretheeconomyandtourismattractionarebetterthanotherregions;and(4)theefficiencydifferencesamongthelistedtourismcompaniesarenotsignificant,andtheyattributetothescaleeffi-ciency,thatistheinputofthefinance,resource,talentsandpolicy.
