Structural and Chronological Evidence for the India-Eurasia Collision of the Early Paleocene in the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis, Namjagbarwa

摘要 TheeasternHimalayansyntaxisinNamjagbarwaisahigh-grademetamorphicterrainformedbytheIndia-EurasiacollisionandnorthwardindentationoftheIndiancontinentintoAsia.Right-andleft-lateralslipzoneswereformedbytheindentationontheeasternandwesternboundariesofthesyntaxisrespectively.TheDongjug-Mainlingfaultzoneisthemainshearzoneonthewesternboundary.Thisfaultzoneisaleft-lateralslipbeltwithalargecomponentofthrusting.Thekinematicsofthefaultisconsistentwiththeshorteningwithinthesyntaxis,andtheslippinghistoryalongitrepresentstheindentingprocessofthesyntaxis.TheAr-ArchronologicalstudyshowsthattheageoftheearlydeformationintheDongjug-Mainlingfaultzonerangesfrom62to59Ma.ThisevidencesthattheIndia-EurasiacollisionoccurredintheearlyPaleoceneintheeasternHimalayansyntaxis.
