New Feedback Architecture for VCO-Based Delta-Sigma ADCs Utilizing Phase Shifter

摘要 Thevoltagecontrolledoscillator-based(VCO-based)continuous-timedelta-sigma(CTDS)analogtodigitalconverter(ADC)suffersfromnonlinearityandmismatchinitsfeedbacknetwork.Anewfeedbacknetworkconsistingofaphaseshifterisproposed.Thephaseshifterreplacesthedigitaltoanalogconverter(DAC)intheproposedarchitecture.Feasibilityoftheproposedideaisdiscussedanditshigherperformanceisillustratedthroughabehavioralsimulationapproach(CppSim).Wehavealsodevelopedthephaseshifterasavariableall-passfilterintheClanguage.ThenonlinearityandmismatchofthesystemcausedbyDACismitigated,resultinginhighersignaltonoiseratio(SNR)andsignaltonoiseanddistortionratio(SNDR),respectively.
