摘要
Magneto-opticFaradayrotationeffectandtheamountofbismuthsubstitutedinyttriumirongarnetsinglecrystalfilmspreparedbygel-coatingonmodifiedgadolinium-galliumgarnetsubstratesareinvestigated,wherethegelissynthesizedbyasol-gelreactionofnitratesandethyleneglycol.Thecoatedgelisannealedinairattemperaturesupto660℃for4h,whichisabout300℃lowerthanthatofliquid-phaseepitaxy.ThemaximumamountofBisubstitutionisx=2.7andthecrystallizationtemperatureofgarnetphasedecreaseswiththeincreaseofxdownto520℃forx=2.7.Inthisfilm,ahugeFaradayrotationof-8.1×104(°)/cmatλ=0.633μmisobtained.
