Thebuildingsectoranditsheatingandcoolingrepresentoneofthemajorconsumerofenergyworldwide.Simultaneously,theshareoffluctuatinggenerationofrenewableenergiesintheenergymixincreases.Thereforestorageanddemandsidemanagementtechnologiesarerequired.Thenewadaptiveandpredictivecontrolalgorithmforthermallyactivatedbuildingsystems(TABS)basedonmultiplelinearregression(AMLR)presentedinthispaperenablestheapplicationofdemandsidemanagement(DSM)strategies.Basedonsimulations,differentstrategieshavebeencomparedwitheachother.ByapplyingtheAMLRalgorithm,electricityenergycostsavingsof38%couldbeachievedcomparedtotheconventionalcontrolstrategyforTABS,whileincreasingthethermalcomfort.Atthesametime,thermalenergydemandcanbereducedintherangebetween4%to8%,andpumpoperationtimefrom86%to89%.
