Targets for high repetition rate laser facilities: needs, challenges and perspectives

摘要 Anumberoflaserfacilitiescomingonlineallovertheworldpromisethecapabilityofhigh-powerlaserexperimentswithshotrepetitionratesbetween1and10Hz.Targetavailabilityandtechnicalissuesrelatedtotheinteractionenvironmentcouldbecomeabottleneckfortheexploitationofsuchfacilities.Inthispaper,wereportontargetneedsforthreedifferentclassesofexperiments:dynamiccompressionphysics,electrontransportandisochoricheating,andlaser-drivenparticleandradiationsources.Wealsoreviewsomeofthemostchallengingissuesintargetfabricationandhighrepetitionrateoperation.Finally,wediscusscurrenttargetsupplystrategiesandfutureperspectivestoestablishasustainabletargetprovisioninfrastructureforadvancedlaserfacilities.
