摘要
Thedispersionofapairofprismsisanalyzedbymeansofaray-tracingmethodoperatingatotherthantip-to-tippropagationoftheprisms,takingintoconsiderationthelimitedspectralbandwidth.Thevariationsofthegroupdelaydispersionandthethird-orderdispersionforapairofprismsarecalculatedwithrespecttotheincidentpositionandtheseparationbetweentheprisms.Thepairofprismscanprovideawiderangeofindependentandcontinuousthird-orderdispersioncompensation.Theeffectofresidualthird-orderdispersiononthepulsecontrastratioandpulsedurationisalsocalculated.Theresidualthird-orderdispersionnotonlyworsensthepulsecontrastratio,butalsoincreasesthepulsedurationtothehundredsoffemtosecondrangeforatensoffemtosecondpulse,evenwhentheresidualthirdorderdispersionissmall.Thesephenomenaarehelpfulincompensatingfortheresidualhigh-orderdispersionandinunderstandingitseffectonpulsecontrastratiosandpulsedurationsinultrashortlasersystems.
