NUMERICAL STUDY ON ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF THE THIRD SHANGHAI SEWERAGE PROJECT

摘要 Two-dimensionalhydrodynamicsimulationfortheYangtzeEstuaryisperformedbyusingtheDelft3Dmodeladoptingtheshallowwaterequationsandthefinitevolumemethodonacurvilinearbody-fittedgrid.Themodeliscalibratedandvalidatedusingavailabletidaldataandfieldmeasurements.Thevelocityvectorfields,thetidallevels,thetrajectoriesofdroguesandthefarfieldsewagedilutionfromtheexistingandproposedoutfallsarestudiedforthespring/neaptideandthedry/wetseason.Theresultsshowthatthetidalcurrentsandtherunoffflowareabletodiluteanddispersethesewagefromtheoutfallstotheoutersea.ThesewagedilutioncontoursundervarioushydrodynamicconditionsindicatethatthedischargedeffluentatpresenthaverelativelyminorimpactonthewaterenvironmentoftheYangtzeEstuary;whereastheplannedsewageplanwouldsignificantlydeterioratethewaterqualityoftheestuaryintheabsenceofanytreatment,especiallyduringtheneaptideofdryseason.ThedroguetrackingshowsthattheeffluentfromthefourouffallswillbetransporteddownstreamtotheHangzhouBay.Astudyonthepollutionduetotheprojectandtheself-purificationcapacityofHangzhouBayisproposedinadditiontothatoftheYangtzeEstuary.
