摘要
Thispaperexaminestheapproachusedbymiddleschoolteacherstoteachingtextsandarguesagainstthetraditionalpracticeofexploitingtextsjusttoteachgrammarandvocabulary.Amorebalancedapproachispresented,involvingallfour-languageskills,concentratingonoutputaswellasinput,andtrainingstu-dentstoextractrelevantinformationfromtexts,makingthemmoreefficientreaders.
