摘要
Anewinstrumentforupperoceansurvey,namelytheUCTD(UnderwayConductivity-Temperature-Depth),whichcombinessomeoftheadvantagesofotherunderwayinstruments,isintroducedinthispaper.TheIntroductionsectionpresentsadescriptionoftheconstructionandfunctionoftheUCTD,andtheexperimentsconductedintheSouthChinaSeaonboardtheR/VDongFangHong2inJuly2007andAugust2008.TheUCTDsystem,withpressureandtemperaturesensorsintheprobe,iscon-venientlyportable,cost-effectiveandenvironment-friendly.Itishopefullysuitableforfuturecruises.AnintercomparisonbasedonregressingwiththeexperimenttemperaturedatafrombothSeaBirdplus911CTDandtheUCTDshowedthatthestandarddeviationis0.88℃andthecorrelationcoefficientis0.96,achievingthegoalssetforthecurrentoceanographyuses.Inthehydrodynamicexperiments,thedescendingvelocitiesanddepthswerecalculatedfordifferentshipspeeds.Apullingtestwasdesignedwithatensiometertomeasurethemagnitudeofthepull.Themaximaltensionofthelinewasfoundtobe66.2kg,whichisfarlowerthanthebearinglimitoftheHollowSpectraline.Finally,someimprovementsuggestionsareputforwardforfutureexperimentsandproduction.
