  • 简介:Hybridbraidsofpolyglycolide(PGA)andchitosanwerepreparedbythethree-yarnbraidingmethodfromPGAandchitosanfiberbundles.Thesebraidswereinvitrodegradedbyincubatingtheminphosphatebufferedsaline(PBS)atpH7.4and37℃for5weeks.ResultssuggestedthatPGA/chitosanhybridbraidsdegradedsignificantly.ScanningelectronmicrographsshowedthatchitosanfibersinthePGA/chitosanhybridbraidwithabout750%PGAinweight(PGA75/chitosan)wereshapedintogel-likeafter5weeks,butthoseinthehybridbraidwithabout250%PGAinweight(PGA25/chitosan)didnotchange.After5weeks,theultimatetensileloadsofPGAandPGA75/chitosanbraidslostalmostcompletely,butthoseofchitosanandPGA25/chitosanbraidsremainedaround14N.ThePGA/chitosanhybridbraidswithhigherinitialultimatetensileloadwouldhavepotentialapplicationsintendon/ligamenttissuereconstruction.

  • 简介:TheinteractionsbetweenmetalionssuchasZn2+,Pb2+,Mn2+,Hg2+,Cd2+,Ni2+andchitosanhavebeeninvestigatedusingthemodelclustermodelmethodanddensityfunctionalmethod.FulloptimizationandfrequencyanalysisofallclustermodelshavebeenperformedemployingB3LYPhybridmethodat3-21Gbasissetlevelexceptmetalionswhichwereinvokedtouseeffectivecorepotential(ECP)method.Theenergychanges,andthemainstructuralparametershavebeenobtainedduringthetheoreticalstudyoftheadsorptionofmetalionsonthechitosan.Thecalculationsshowedthatthecoordinationmodesofmetalionswithchitosanmodelsweredifferent,thegeometriesofMn2+,Zn2+,Cd2+,Hg2+,Pb2+ionscoordinatedwithtwonitrogenatomsandtwooxygenatomsweredistortedtetrahedral,whilethesquareplanarstructureofNi2+coordinatedtwonitrogenatomsandtwooxygenatomswasobserved.Theheatofreactionbetweensixmetalionsandchitosanmodelsshowedtheorder:Mn2+>Ni2+>Zn2+>Pb2+>Hg2+>Cd2+,thissuggestedthatthecoordinationstrengthofMn2+>Ni2+>Zn2+>Pb2+>Hg2+>Cd2+.

  • 简介:Thepresentinvestigationdescribesanovelmethodforpreparingsphericalchitosanparticlesbasedoncrosslinkingwithepichlorohydrin.Certainamountofpre-crosslinkingagentwasaddedtoformchitosangelsbytraditionalinversephasesuspensionpolymerization.Thenthegelswerecrosslinkedbyepichlorohydrinatbasicconditiontoobtainchitosanbeads.Theeffectsofreactionconditions,suchascrosslinkingtime,theamountofcrosslinkingagentandtheNaOttconcentration,onthephysicalpropertiesofthechitosanbeadswereinvestigated.Thebeadswerefoundtohavemoreaminogroupsinthepolymerchainsthanthebeadscrosslinkedbyglutaraldehyde.Thecapacityforcopperionsisashighas40mg/g.Thebeadshavegoodmechanicalstrengthandcanbereused.

  • 简介:Thisstudyisconcernedwithchitosan-polyacrylicacidcomplexasacarriertoimmobilizeglucoseoxidase(GOD)andcellulase.TheoptimumemperatureoftheimmobilizedGOD(IG)wasdeterminedtobe60℃whichishigherthanthatofthenativeGODabout40℃.Theoptimumtemperatureoftheimmobilizedcellulase(IC)wasdeterminedtobeabout30℃higherthanthatofnativecellulase.BothoftheoptimumpHofIGandICshiftedonepHunittoacid.ImmobilizedenzymemaybeusedinmorewidepHrange.Theirstoragelifearemuchlongercomparedwiththeirnativestates.Bothofthemcanbereusedatleast12times.

  • 简介:Objective:Toseeknewmethodforthetreatmentofperipheralnerveinjury.Methods:Inratmodelwithsciaticnervedefect,chitosan-collagenfilmwassuturedintoconduittobridge5mm,10mmnervedefects.Ratsthatunderwentend-to-endanastomosisweretakenascontrols.Generalobservation,electrophysiologicalstudy,histologicalstudyandimageanalysiswereperformedat4,8,12weekspostoperatively.Results:In5mmnervedefects,thequalityofnerveregenerationwassimilartothatofthecontrolgroup.For10mmnervedefect,nerveregenerationwasinferiortothatofthecontrolgroup.Chitosan-collagenfilmobviouslydegradedat12weekspostoperatively.Conclusions:Chitosan-collagenfilmconduitcanbeusedtobridgeperipheralnervedefect.
