Analyzing Learning Motivation of Students and Arousing Students’ Curiosity

In the English teaching process, teachers should respect students’ self-esteem, interest, hobbies, affect, the way of thinking and the view of value and so on to help them rectify their learning motivation. Teachers also should let students know the importance of English as an international language or in daily life by listing some facts. Besides, teachers should unearth and make full use of education factors about moral in teaching material to educate students in thoughts, science and culture, which is aimed at making them realize the significance of times. On the basis of it, teachers can organize some instructive practical activities in or after class to let students more love English, English study and English culture. Students will make sense that learning English well is good for their own development and for adjusting future. Only by knowing that can students arouse their strong desire for English study from their inner hearts.

Strengthening Students’ Will of Learning English and Reducing Language Anxiety

At present, many high school students have weak psychology and will in learning English. Once they meet difficulty, they will lose learning interest and curiosity easily or even give up English study. To solve the problem, English teachers should research students further, take full advantage of teaching material and present resources and try our best to cultivate students’ strong will. Take an example, we can hold an English Speech Contest or other forms to stimulate students’ competitive itch and curiosity.

Surely, this kind of education means that appreciation and praise play a chief role in educating students and its purpose is to let students get more self-confidence. By this teaching way, students themselves are easy to understand their strong points and continue to develop them. To tell the truth, praise is not only knowledge but an art. There is no doubt that education of appreciation and praise should be open. For example, teachers can praise students in class to make them have the most psychological satisfaction and get more self-confidence.
