Satelliteconstellationdesignforspaceopticalsystemsisessentiallyamultiple-objectiveoptimizationproblem.Inthiswork,totacklethischallenge,wefirstcategorizetheperformancemetricsofthespaceopticalsystembytakingintoaccountthesystemtasks(i.e.,targetdetectionandtracking).Wethenproposeanewnon-dominatedsortinggeneticalgorithm(NSGA)tomaximizethesystemsurveillanceperformance.Paretooptimalsetsareemployedtodealwiththeconflictsduetothepresenceofmultiplecostfunctions.Simulationresultsverifythevalidityandtheimprovedperformanceoftheproposedtechniqueoverbenchmarkmethods.
