CATS：a Cellular Automation for Tracking in Silicon for the HERA—B Vertex Detector

AtrackreconstructionprogramCATSbasedonacellularautomatonhasbeendevelopedforthevertexdetectorsystemoftheHERA-BexperimentatDESY,AsegmentmodelofthecellularautomationusedfortrackingcanberegardedaslocaldiscreteformoftheDenby-Petersonneuralnet.Since1999CATShasbeenusedtoreconstructdatacollectedinHERA-B.Resultsonthetrackingperformance,andaccuracyofestimatesandcomputingtimearepresented.
