  • 简介:Theblue-greenemittingEu2+andNd3+dopedpolycrystallinebariumaluminate(BaAl2O4:Eu2+,Nd3+)phosphor,waspreparedbyasolution-combustionmethodat500oCwithoutapost-annealingprocess.Thecharacteristicvariationinthestructuralandluminescencepropertiesoftheas-preparedsampleswasevaluatedwithregardstoachangeintheBa/Almolarratiofrom0.1:1to1.4:1.Themorphologiesandthephasestructuresoftheproductswerecharacterizedbyscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM),transmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM),X-raydiffraction(XRD)andX-rayphotoelectronspectroscopy(XPS),whiletheopticalpropertieswereinvestigatedusingultra-violet(UV)andphotoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy,respectively.TheXRDandTEMresultsrevealedthattheaveragecrystallitesizeoftheBaAl2O4:Eu2+,Nd3+phosphorwasabout70nm.Thebroad-bandUV-excitedluminescenceofthephosphorswasobservedatλmax=500nmduetotransitionsfromthe4f65d1tothe4f7configurationoftheEu2+ion.ThePLresultsindicatedthatthemainpeaksintheemissionandexcitationspectrumofphosphorparticlesslightlyshiftedtotheshortwavelengthduetothechangesinthecrystalfieldduetothestructurechangescausedbythevariationinthequantityoftheBaionsinthehostlattice.

  • 简介:Anewgenerationconicalspraysystemforconventionaldieselenginesorpremixedcombustiondieselenginesisintroduced.Bymeansoforientedimpingementmethod,flexiblespraypenetrationindesignisrealized.High-speedphotographwasusedtoinvestigatethespatialdistributioncharacteristicsofthenewsprayforcasesofdifferentimpingementanglesandneedlevalveopeningpressures.Theresultsshowthat,byapplyingsprayimpingementorientation,fueljetsspreadalongtheconesurfaceasshapeofsectors,sothedispersionofjetsisincreasedobviously.Changingonimpingementangleleadstovariationofpenetration,whichiscriticalinhomogeneousmixturepreparation.Duetotheflexibilityofspraypenetrationindesign,thesprayimpingementonlinerisavoidedinagreatextent.Theresultsalsoindicatethathigherneedlevalveopeningpressureresultsinlongerpenetrationandlargersprayangleafterimpingement.Combustioncharacteristicsoftheimpingedconicalspraywerestudiedinthe1135typedieselengine.ThenewimpingedconicalspraysystemworksmoothlyinfullloadrangewithbetterfueleconomyandloweremissionsofNOxandsootthantheoriginaltestengine.

  • 简介:Thispaperdescribestheeffectsofnon-equilibriumairplasmageneratedbyadielectricbarrierdischarge(DBD)onthecombustionoflowheatingvaluefuels.TheexperimentalresultsindicatethatadditionofaverysmallamountofenergytotheairflowintheformofDBDsignificantlyimprovestheflamestability.Moreover,maincombustioncharacteristicssuchasflamepropagationspeed,combustionintensityandleanblow-offlimitsarealsoenhancedbytheeffectofplasma.SomeactiveradicalssuchasexcitedOatomandexcitedN2moleculeareobservedbyspectrographinthedischargearea.BasedontheresultsofnumericalinvestigationwecanconcludethattheseactiveradicalsgeneratedindischargeareacanacceleratetheproductionrateofactiveOHradicalwhichplaysakeyroleintheoxidationprocessoflowheatingvaluefuel,andthusthewholecombustionprocessisaccelerated.

  • 简介:Leanpremixedcombustion,whichallowsforreducingtheproductionofthermalNOx,ispronetocombustioninstabilities.Thereisanextensiveresearchtodevelopareducedphysicalmodel,whichallows-withouttime-consumingmeasurements-tocalculatetheresonancecharacteristicsofacombustionsystemconsistingofHelmholtzresonatortypecomponents(burnerplenum,combustionchamber).FortheformulationofthismodelnumericalinvestigationsbymeansofcompressibleLargeEddySimulation(LES)werecarriedout.Intheseinvestigationstheflowinthecombustionchamberisisotherm,non-reactingandexcitedwithasinusoidalmassflowrate.Firstlyacombustionchamberasasingleresonatorsubsequentlyacoupledsystemofaburnerplenumandacombustionchamberwereinvestigated.Inthispapertheresultsofadditionalinvestigationsofthesingleresonatorarepresented.Theflowinthecombustionchamberwasinvestigatedwithoutexcitationattheinlet.Itwasdetected,thatthemassflowrateattheoutletcrosssectionispulsatingoncetheflowinthechamberisturbulent.ThefastFouriertransformofthesignalshowedthatthedominantmodeisattheresonancefrequencyofthecombustionchamber.Thisresultshedslightonaveryimportantsourceofself-excitedcombustioninstabilities.FurthermoretheLEScanprovidenotonlythedampingratiofortheanalyticalmodelbuttheeigenfrequencyoftheresonatoralso.

  • 简介:Anaccurateandcompletegeometricmodelwasconstructedtosimulatethecombustion,flowandtemperatureenvironmentintheradiantsectionofthesteamcrackingfurnace.Simulationofflowandradiationstatushasutilizedthestandardk-εmodelandP1model.Thefinite-rate/eddy-dissipation(finite-rate/ED)combustionmodelandnon-premixedcombustionmodelwerebothusedtosimulateaccuratelythecombustionandtheoperationstatusofthesteamcrackingfurnace.Threedifferentsurfacesofthesteamcrackingfurnacewereobtainedfromthesimulation,namely:thefluegastemperaturefieldoftheentrancesurfaceinlongflameburners,thecentralsurfacelocationoftubes,andthecrossoversectionsurface.Detailedinformationonthefluegastemperatureandthemassconcentrationfractionofthesedifferentsurfacesinthesteamcrackingfurnacecanalsobeobtainedbythesimulation.Thispaperanalyzedandcomparedthesimulationresultswiththetwocombustionmodels,estimatedtheoperationstatusofthesteamcrackingfurnace,andreportedthatthefinite-rate/EDmodelisappropriatetosimulatethesteamcrackingfurnacebycomparingkeysimulationdatawithactualtestdata.Thisworkhasalsoprovidedatheoreticalbasisforsimulatingandoperatingthesteamcrackingfurnace.

  • 简介:Anewlydesignedstrutisproposedinthispaperforfuelinjectionandflameholdinginaliquid-kerosene-fueledsupersoniccombustor.Thethicknessofthestrutis8mmandthefrontblockageisabout8%.Thecharacteristicofthisstrutisthatextraoxygencanbeinjectedthroughasetoforificesatthebackofthestrut,whichcanchangethelocalflowfieldstructureandER(EquivalenceRatio).Basedontheabovementionedstrut,astablelocalflameisgeneratedatthebackofthestrutandthemaincombustioncanbeorganizedaroundthislocalfire.Numericalsimulationisconductedtocomparethelocalflowfielddistributionatthebackofthestrutwith/withoutextraoxygeninjection.Experimentsareconductedtotestthecombustioncharacteristicsbasedonthisfuelinjectionandflameholdingstrategy.Thetemperaturedistributionwhichcanreflectthelocalflamecharacteristichasbeenmeasuredintheexperimentsconductedundercoldincomingsupersonicairflowcondition.Inaddition,theoverallcombustionperformanceinafull-scalesupersoniccombustorhasbeenevaluatedintheexperimentsconductedunderhotincomingsupersonicairflowcondition.Resultsshowthatthisstrutstrategyisverypromisingsinceitcanorganizestablesupersoniccombustionatthecenterofthecombustorwithoutanycavityorrearwardfacingstep.Besidesthat,evenwiththe8mmthickstrut,thecombustioncanbestableinawiderangeofERfrom0.25-1byusingliquidroom-temperaturekerosene.
