摘要
Themechanicsofflowinggranularmaterialssuchascoal,sand,metaloresetc.,hasreceivedconsiderableattentionintherecentyearsasithasrelevancetoseveralimportanttechnologicalproblems.Thegoverningequationsfortheflowofgranularmaterials,arederivedusingamodelbasedonthekinetictheoryapproach[cf.BoyleandMas-soudi(1990)].Forafullydevelopedflowofthesemeterialsdownaninclinedplane,theequationsreducetoasystemofcouplednon-linearordinarydifferentialequations.Theresultingboundaryvalueproblemissolvednumericallyandaparametricstudyiscarriedouttodelineatehowthevariousnon-dimensionalparametersaffectthestructureofthesolution.
