  • 简介:Aleafinclinationangledistributionmodel,whichisapplicabletosimulateleafinclinationangledistributioninsixheightsoflayeredcanopyatdifferentgrowthstages,wasestablishedbycomponentfactorsaffectingplanttypeinrice.Theaccuracyofthesimulationresultswasvalidatedbymeasuredvaluesfromafieldexperiment.Thecoefficientofdetermination(R2)andtherootmeansquareerror(RMSE)betweenthesimulatedandmeasuredvalueswere0.9472and3.93%,respectively.Thesimulationresultsshowedthatthedistributionofleafinclinationanglesdifferedamongthethreeplanttypes.TheleafinclinationangleswerelargerinthecompactvarietyLiangyoupeijiuwitherectleavesthanintheloosevarietyShanyou63withdroopyleavesandtheintermediatevarietyLiangyouY06.TheleafinclinationanglesweredistributedinthelowerrangeinShanyou63,whichmatchedupwithfieldmeasurements.Thedistributionofleafinclinationanglesinthesamevarietychangedthroughoutthesevengrowthstages.Theleafinclinationanglesenlargedgraduallyfromtransplantingtobooting.Duringthepost-bootingperiod,theleafinclinationangleincreasedinShanyou63andLiangyouY06,butchangedlittleinLiangyoupeijiu.Ateverygrowthstageofeachvariety,canopyleafinclinationangledistributiononthesixheightsofcanopylayerswasvariable.Ascanopyheightincreased,thelayeredleafareaindex(LAI)decreasedinallthethreeplanttypes.However,whiletheleafinclinationanglesshowedlittlechangeinLiangyoupeijiu,theybecamelargerinShanyou63butsmallerinLiangyouY06.Thesimulationresultsusedintheconstructedmodelwereverysimilartotheactualmeasurementvalues.Themodelprovidesamethodforestimatingcanopyleafinclinationangledistributioninriceproduction.

  • 简介:Alightbrownspotted-leafmutantofricewasisolatedfromanethanemethylsulfonate(EMS)-inducedIR64mutantbank.Themutant,designatedaslbsl1(lightbrownspotted-leaf1),displayedlightbrownspotinthewholegrowthperiodfromthefirstleaftotheflagleafundernaturalsummerfieldconditions.Agronomictraitsincludingplantheight,growthduration,numberoffilledgrainsperpanicle,seed-settingrateand1000-grainweightofthemutantweresignificantlyaffected.Geneticanalysisshowedthatthemutationwascontrolledbyasinglerecessivegene,tentativelynamedlbsl1(t),whichwasmappedtotheshortarmofchromosome6.Bydevelopingsimplesequencerepeat(SSR)markers,thegenewasfinallydelimitedtoanintervalof130kbbetweenmarkersRM586andRM588.Thelbsl1(t)geneislikelyanovelricespotted-leafgenesincenoothersimilargeneshavebeenidentifiednearthechromosomalregion.Thegeneticdataandrecombinationpopulationsprovidedwillfacilitatefurtherfine-mappingandcloningofthegene.

  • 简介:FieldexperimentswereconductedintheEbroDeltaarea(Spain),from2007to2009withtworicevarieties:GlevaandTebre.Theexperimentaltreatmentsincludedaseriesofseedrates,twodifferentwatermanagementsystemsandtwodifferentnitrogenfertilizationtimes.Thenumberofleavesonthemainstemsandtheiremergencetimewereperiodicallytagged.Theresultsindicatedthatthefinalleafnumberonthemainstemsinthetworicevarietieswasquitestableoverathree-yearperioddespiteofthedifferencesintheirrespectivegrowthcycles.Interactionbetweennitrogenfertilizationandwatermanagementinfluencedthefinalleafnumberonthemainstems.Plantdensityalsohadasignificantinfluenceontherateofleafappearancebyextendingthephyllochronandpostponingtheonsetofintraspecificcompetitionaftertheemergenceofthe7thleafonthemainstems.Finalleafnumberonthemainstemswasnegativelyrelatedtoplantdensity.Arelationshipbetweenleafappearanceandthermaltimewasestablishedwithastrongnonlinearfunction.Indirect-seededrice,thelengthofthephyllochronincreasesexponentiallyinlinewiththeadvanceofplantdevelopment.Ageneralmodel,derivedfrom2-yearexperimentaldata,wasdevelopedandsatisfactorilyvalidated;ithadarootmeansquareerrorof0.3leaf.Anexponentialmodelcanbeusedtopredictleafemergenceindirect-seededrice.

  • 简介:FoldingandspinningbehaviorofCnaphalocrocismedinalis(Guenee)(Lepidoptera:Pyralidae)indifferentcategoriesofricegenotypesviz.,resistant,susceptible,hybrid,scented,popularandwildricegenotypesweresignificantlydifferent.Longerleafselectiontimeandfoldingtimeperprimaryfold;shorterprimaryfoldandwholeleaffold;lowernumberofbindsperprimaryfoldandwholeleaffoldwererecordedinresistantandwildricegenotypes.Inthecorrelationanalysis,itwasfoundthattheleaffoldingparameterswerepositivelycorrelatedtoleaffolderdamagewhereastheleafspinningparameterswerenegativelycorrelated.Similarly,themorphologicalcharactersdifferedsignificantlyamongthechosengenotypesandwererelatedtoleaffolderdamage.Theleafwidthandtotalproductivetillernumberwerepositivelycorrelatedtoleaffolderinfestation.Resultsalsoindicatedthatthetrichomedensityandlength,leaflengthandplantheightmightcontributetoresistancewhereastotalnumberofgreenleaveshadnoeffectonleaffolderinfestation.Inthescatterplotanalysisbetweenleaffoldingandspinningcharactersandleaffolderdamage,thegenotypeswereseparatedintofourgroupsviz.,resistant(TKM6,Ptb33,LFR831311,OryzarhizomatisandO.minuta),moderatelyresistant(ASD16andCORH1),moderatelysusceptible(ADT36,PusaBasmatiandCB200290)andsusceptible(IR36andTN1).Thepresentinvestigationprovedthattheleafmorphologyviz.,leaflengthandwidth,plantheightandtrichomedensityandlengthmayplayavitalroleinresistanceagainstriceleaffolder.
